Family Tree
The familiy history, dates and such are discussed on my genealogy page.
On the Gilham side there is a more speculative genealogy going back to the mid 18th century. These additions (on the top left) are not yet proven but stand a good chance of being correct as they follow the practise of using King' names, which was followed for several definite generations. Note the variabiliy in the number of 'l's to be found in the surname.

Great-grandparents' generation
Grandparents' generation
Ada Walters, wife of Fred Walters, and her son, Len, (sister-in-law and nephew to my paternal grandfather respectively).
1st left, second row is my grandfather, while on service in India in No.2 Section, "B" Company of the Buffs at West Hill, Malabar. This is pre-1914.
From left to right, my mother, me, brother Andy (in pushchair), my step-grand-mother, Winnie, and my grandfather Edward John Gilham. This would be summer 1960, I guess.
Uncle Fred and wife Ada with Alan and Eric. A photo taken in Dilhorne, Staffs; the last of the group is Nancy Salt.
The central group include my father's cousins Joan and Gladys. That's him in the foreground, and Uncle Eric at the left. Dover beach, between the wars.
Fred Walters was Company Sergeant Major in the 2nd Battalion of the Royal East Kents (The Buffs) during the WWII; shown here with his son Len.
My grandfather, Edward John, in uniform as a Corporal in the Royal East Kent Regiment (the Buffs) - formal portrait. This was about the time of the Great War.
Parents' generation
My parents Alan and Jean, flanking his parents. From the title of the picture, I guess that was taken at the wedding of his cousin Chris, daughter of Aunt Gladys. This would have been 1953, a year after my parents' wedding.
My parents Alan and Jean, on their wedding day, July 1952. Flanked by both sets of their parents, my grandparents, and my mother's sisters as bridesmaids.
Old London Town
London, 1953.
